The sketch
A figure on paper, before a single thread is committed.

Our story
YANA23 is made the slow way round: drawn, drafted, pinned, cut and finished by hand before it is offered to anyone. The ten drawings below are that hour, start to finish — the same room, the same lamp, ten times over.
Drape yourself in our imagination.
Scroll — the hour begins
Not as a story on a page — as the reason a shoulder sits right, a seam holds, and a colour still looks like itself after a year of wearing.
See what came out of it
I
A figure on paper, before a single thread is committed.

II
Rule and pencil. The drawing becomes a set of measurements.

III
Paper pieces laid out, squared, and marked to the grain.

IV
The one irreversible minute in the whole hour.

V
Off the table, onto the form — where flat becomes a body.

VI
Pinned and re-pinned until the shoulder sits where it should.

VII
Seated, needle in hand, at the end of the lamp.

VIII
Leaves worked in gold, one thread at a time.

IX
The sash settled, and the proportion finally decided.

X
Standing back. Everything finished is hanging behind her.
